This is the qualifying course for our "Pistol Combat Level 1: Concealed Carry Tactics" course that must be completed in less than 120 seconds to qualify.
It's purpose is to accustom the student/instructor candidate to shooting with an elevated heart rate through the use of calisthenic exercise (burpees and sprint) while on the move and advancing to cover at a sprint, simulating "Running to the sound of the guns" in an incident which could be anything from the LEO responding to an Active Shooter, the armed forces service member reacting to hostile contact, or the civilian defender reacting to shots fired on their own property (just for examples).
Start at a point 125 yards from the target, shooter will perform 5 burpees and sprint to 25 yard line. Shooter will perform 5 burpees behind Simulated Cover. I use an improvised barricade built from plywood but barrels, your car, just about anything can be used for this item of simulated cover. Upon completion of Burpees, the shooter will draw their weapon and advance from cover onto the target while firing 20 rounds from 25 Yards to Muzzle Contact with target.
A paper plate will be placed on the silhouette as the aiming point.
One round on the silhouette is allowed.
Two is a failure.
***HEAD SHOTS ARE EXEMPTED***
Any hit not on the silhouette is a failure.
Give this a try.
I like this drill A LOT!
